If you're making your way for a major concert or sporting event in Bukit Jalil, here's what you need to know about getting there

The venues — Bukit Jalil National Stadium, Axiata Arena, and the National Hockey Stadium — are all located within Kuala Lumpur Sports City (formerly Bukit Jalil National Sports Complex), a central hub for large-scale events and known for heavy congestion during event days.

The best way to get there? Public transport — it's the easiest way to beat the traffic.

Take the LRT Sri Petaling Line and hop off at Bukit Jalil Station, which is just a four-minute walk from the venues.

Most of the time, LRT services will run past midnight on concert and game nights to ensure everyone has time to leave the venues safely.

If you want to avoid parking stress entirely, this is your best option.

If you're driving, there's on-site parking

However, prepare to go early as spots are limited, especially on days there are multiple events.

Here are the number of available lots for each car park:
Car Park A: 150 lots
Car Park B: 907 lots
Car Park C: 1,020 lots
Car Park D: 147 lots
Car Park E: 700 lots
National Hockey Stadium: 150 lots

If your event is at Bukit Jalil National Stadium, parking lots A, B, and C are the closest.

If your event is at Axiata Arena, parking lots D and E are the closest.

Parking rates are typically RM10 to RM20 per entry.

Otherwise, you could park slightly farther away and take the LRT to the stadium

Awan Besar LRT Station is only two stops away from Bukit Jalil Station, and is the only station with a dedicated parking facility (besides the Putra Heights Station) along the line. There is no dedicated parking facility at the Sri Petaling LRT Station.

The parking is free at Awan Besar Station.

You could also choose to park at Pavilion Bukit Jalil shopping mall for better safety and take its free shuttle to Awan Besar LRT Station to hop on the train.

The parking rate for Pavilion Bukit Jalil is RM3 for the first hour, RM1 for every subsequent hour on weekends. The maximum charge per day is RM15.

If you're from out-of-town, consider parking at Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS) to take the LRT to the stadium

As the main express bus terminal in Kuala Lumpur, TBS has plenty of parking lots and is also only two stops away from Bukit Jalil LRT Station.

The maximum parking rate at TBS is RM10 for the first 24 hours, and RM6 for every subsequent 24 hours.

If you don't mind walking for a bit, consider parking at Endah Parade

The retail complex housing AEON Big, located opposite the highway, has ample parking space and is located just a 10-minute walk from the National Hockey Stadium, as well as up to a 20-minute walk to the Bukit Jalil National Stadium and Axiata Arena.

It makes a convenient spot to park as you can avoid heavy traffic within the complex after the event.

The parking rate at Endah Parade is RM3 for the first four hours, RM3 for the subsequent four hours on weekends.

If you're attending a mega concert and want a stress-free experience, consider staying at a nearby condo for the night

Netizens have suggested Airbnb-friendly options such as Arena Green and Parkhill Residence, which are within walking distance of the stadiums.

If you're e-hailing, remember that getting in would be easy, but getting out after the show would be difficult due to heavy traffic and demand

A useful tip is to walk at least 30 minutes away from the stadium before booking a ride — your chances would improve drastically.

Expect heavy traffic and longer travel times on event days

It might be worth going hours earlier before the event start time to secure a parking lot if you're going for a large-scale concert.

Better yet, coordinate with friends to carpool and reduce the number of cars on the road.

Happy planning!
