A hotel in central China is gaining attention online for launching a 'pet sleep-accompanying' service that lets guests have a dog stay with them for a day

The Biguiyuan Phoenix Hotel in Wuhan, Hubei province, began offering the service in July.

For 499 yuan (RM295), customers can book a pet-themed room and choose a canine companion after signing an agreement.

The hotel has 10 dogs available, including friendly breeds like Golden Retrievers, Huskies, and West Highland White Terriers

These dogs are either raised by the hotel or sourced from professional trainers and are all vaccinated, health-checked, and trained to interact with guests.

However, according to South China Morning Post, a lawyer cautioned that the hotel is subject to full liability if the dogs harm the guests, except in cases of gross negligence by the guest.

The hotel said that so far, more than 80 people have used the service without any complaints

A manager added that any guest found to have harmed the dogs would be blacklisted.

The family-friendly service was designed to bring joy to travellers, especially those who cannot keep pets at home.
