HK Express To Launch Daily Flights From Subang To Hong Kong Starting 1 August

Heads up, Hong Kong fans! Getting to your favourite cha chaan teng just got way easier.

HK Express, the budget airline under Cathay Pacific, is launching daily direct flights from Subang Airport to Hong Kong beginning 1 August this year.

This will be the airline's second destination in Malaysia, following its Penang-Hong Kong route that launched in November last year.

Unlike Cathay Pacific's existing flights out of KLIA, which operate mostly in the morning and early afternoon, HK Express will offer evening departures from Subang

Perfect if you want to squeeze in a full workday before flying off for a getaway.

According to the New Straits Times, the airline will use narrow-body aircraft, likely from the Airbus A320 family, in line with its low-cost strategy.

Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport (aka Subang Airport) sits just 25 minutes away from the city centre, which is a huge time-saver compared to commuting to KLIA

That proximity, according to Cathay, gives it a "slightly different market" that's ideal for business travellers and spontaneous holiday-goers alike.

Batik Air will also be kicking off an international route from Subang airport this month:
