Local graffiti artist Cloakwork has teamed up with UNIQLO for the UTme! Safety Match Series, turning his signature street-style visuals into wearable T-shirt designs
Launched in February this year, the collection features 10 designs of the artist's iconic artwork.

At the heart of the collection is a simple but meaningful symbol: a matchbox logo
Inspired by Malaysia's long-standing match-making craft and the legacy of the Kelantan Match Factory, it's more than just a design choice for Cloakwork.
The idea behind the matchbox logo stemmed from the act of lighting a match, "which to me represents hope," he shared in a video.

That sense of spark, both literal and creative, is something he hopes people take away from the collab
"If this collection can spark anything, I want it to remind young creatives that our stories, our visions, our heritage, they're powerful," he shared.

For Cloakwork, seeing his work move beyond walls and into everyday fashion feels like a natural evolution of street culture
"Street art has always belonged to the people. Seeing it move from a wall to something people wear everyday, makes it more alive," he added.

He also pointed out that collaborations like this help blur the lines between "high art" and everyday culture
"It also shows that local art and traditional inspiration can exist in every space, not just galleries or heritage sites. That's how culture stays alive: when people carry it with them," he said.

The UTme! Safety Match Series is available at selected UNIQLO stores, where you can customise your own tees and totes
These are the outlets carrying the collection:
- Mid Valley Megamall (Kuala Lumpur)
