Set to officially open on 18 January 2026, Ipoh Stables Market is being touted as Asia's first stable market, transforming former horse stables into a lively spot for food, creativity, and culture.

Before the grand opening, the space will ease into things with a soft launch starting 19 December 2025, giving visitors a sneak peek as the organisers fine-tune the experience.

The market itself is expected to feature nearly 90 stalls, ranging from local eats and handmade goods to cultural showcases that celebrate Ipoh's identity

And while yes, there'll be plenty to shop and snack on, the idea goes beyond that. According to its founders, the goal isn't just to sell things, it's to create a space where the community can gather, connect, and spend time together while preserving history.

By keeping much of the original structure intact while transforming it into a modern marketplace, Ipoh Stables Market strikes that sweet spot between heritage and contemporary living.

A standout feature is the stables' original Vintage Racing Gate, which has been refurbished and now serves as the market's grand entrance
