QY recently brought her boyfriend Kim from South Korea to try Chinese mixed rice in Johor Bahru, Johor.
To commemorate Kim's first time having economy rice, QY recorded him in a video and posted it on Xiaohongshu, China's equivalent of Instagram.
"Like a child at a candy store," as described by local media outlets, Kim was all smiles when he stepped into the premises and saw an array of dishes displayed.
"There are so many options!" he said in Mandarin, before asking QY in Korean, "The more I take (the dishes), the more expensive it gets?"
"That's right," she answered, advising her boyfriend to only take the amount of food that he could finish.

"Really? I want to eat everything," said the clueless Kim, before he began taking a small quantity of food from each dish
Kim asked his girlfriend whether the boss would calculate the price of his plate based on its weight, to which QY answered no, explaining in jest, "The boss calculates based on their mood."
Although she told Kim that he could take a small quantity of food from each dish, he went wild with it, taking a total of 13 dishes.
"I am going crazy," said QY in Korean. Kim then asked whether his plate would cost a lot, and QY said, "It's likely to be expensive."
They then proceeded to pay at the counter. The shy QY stopped recording her boyfriend because she knew things would turn 'ugly'.

In the next scene, a guilty Kim admitted that he was "lectured" by the economy rice lady boss
"I just got lectured by the lady boss," Kim related, with QY saying it was because he took too many different dishes in small quantities.
"This is the South Korean style," Kim defended himself, which left his girlfriend speechless.

After the video was published, it went viral and even caught the attention of local Chinese media outlets, both newspapers and newscasts
Astro AEC's news segment made a five-minute report on it and captured over 247,000 views on Facebook.
Speaking to SAYS, the couple said they have been together since 2020. They also revealed that Kim's economy rice in the video cost RM12, while QY's cost RM9.
In a YouTube video posted on their channel, Amoi and Oppa, yesterday, 13 June, QY explained that the economy rice lady boss was actually not mad at Kim, but was just merely annoyed.
"Then, I apologised to her, saying that you (Kim) are a foreigner… it's your first time having economy rice… and you won't do it ever again," she said.
"The lady boss smiled and said, 'Okay, okay. You enjoy'," she recalled.
QY also told her viewers that she had taught Kim about the etiquette when it comes to picking up food at economy rice premises, to which Kim said he has learnt his lesson.
