And there's even the live-action **'Beauty and the Beast'**. Looks like a pretty significant chunk of our year is gonna be spend in the cinema and we're so excited!

5. Top artists will be dropping brand new albums
Keep an eye out for **Katy Perry**, **Drake**, **Lorde**, **The Chainsmokers**, **Fergie**, and **Iggy Azalea**, all of whom are expected to be releasing new albums sometime this year.
Also, rumour has it that **Eminem will be collaborating with Adele** for a couple tracks on his new album. :O

6. The original Digimon Virtual Pet/Digivice toy is coming back

9. We'll be able to see two lunar eclipses
The first is a penumbral lunar eclipse, predicted to be happening on 11 February 2017, and the second is a partial lunar eclipse, predicted to be happening on either 7 February 2017 or 8 February 2017.

10. The MRT is finally going to be fully completed
Though the MRT has already been up and running for a couple months now, the final stage of the Sungai Buloh-Kajang MRT line is only expected to be fully complete and operational later in July.

11. It's our turn to play host to the SEA Games
The 29th SEA Games will be taking place from 19 to 31 August 2017. This will mark the 6th time that we've hosted the SEA Games; the last time it was held here was 16 years ago in 2001.

12. We'll be celebrating our 60th year of independence! #merdeka
WOW that's a huge milestone! 😀 The celebrations are sure to be really *gempak* this year especially since our *Merdeka* day coincides with the closing ceremony of the SEA Games so the double celebration will definitely be something worth watching.
