Cheng told SAYS that he never expected the 96-year-old former prime minister to be a customer
Hailing from Ipoh, Cheng Jia Yung said he's a Form Five student who is helping his brother promote their new fish business online.
"I'm a promoter and my brother is the breeder. It's only been a bit over two months since we started this in June," he said.
It was a stroke of luck when he received a WhatsApp message on 14 August from someone who claimed to be buying six betta fishes for Mahathir, to which Cheng said he initially thought was a prank.
"I took it as a joke but completed his order anyway. After payment, he gave me the postal address and I became speechless," said the shocked seller.

"I believe this can become a big business because many people are interested in buying fighting fish and I wish you more success," said the happy-looking customer.
Mahathir's aide has also posted a photo on Twitter of the nonagenarian relaxing in his office with the "cute" fish on his table.
