A tourist from the UK has gone viral for sharing his appreciation for a lively midnight crowd at a public park no alcohol in sight
In an Instagram post last weekend, @the_boomeranggg_ uploaded a nine-second video showing people enjoying a leisurely night at Dataran Nilai in Negeri Sembilan.
"This is what a weekend looks like in Malaysia at 12am. No drinking, no clubbing. Just straight vibes and family," he wrote, adding that a similar park in the UK would "go downhill so fast".
At the time of writing, the video has garnered over 1.3 million views
Many netizens echoed his appreciation for family-friendly parks, noting the absence of drinkers or nearby clubs.
"Malaysia [is a] family-friendly country," read a comment.
"You should go check out the mamak restaurants, Malaysians are still eating rice and roti canai at 1am," wrote an Instagram user, while another added, "[That's] better than clubbing and drinking. Mamaking, yeah, still 'drinking' technically, but no alcohol in mamak."
