If tourists flock to South Korea for K-beauty products and Japan for Kit Kats, Malaysians are just as guilty of stocking up on cheese sandwiches from Thailand's 7-Eleven outlets
In a Facebook post this week, My Thailand, a satirical travel page, poked fun at Malaysian tourists for their love of Thai 7-Eleven products.
"To the Malaysian tourist loading 50 toasties into the trunk of a Perodua Myvi… We see the black licence plates. We know you are here," the post began.
The post also said Malaysians love buying Meiji Banana Milk and CP Sausages, treating the Ham & Cheese Toasted Sandwich as if it were a Michelin-star meal.
"You bought so many bags of chips that it looks like you are preparing for a zombie apocalypse back in Kuala Lumpur.
"Is there a famine in Malaysia that we don't know about? Why do you need 40 bottles of milk for a two-day trip?" it quipped.

The post also mocked Malaysians who claim that tom yam served in Damansara is more authentic than Thailand's
"Excuse me? You are in Thailand. This is the source code. Your Tom Yam is a remix," it wrote.

In the comments section, many Malaysians admitted guilt in hilarious exchanges.
"Guilty as charged. We love the 7E. It's like novelty. And the staff are so friendly. We even ask which burgers or desserts are nice, and they are always so happy to help. From Satun until Pattani, we keep stopping at 7Es. You guys are the best," read a top comment.
"We'll gladly exchange toasties with Malaysian [RON95] petrol," joked a netizen, while another added, "As a Malaysian, way too hilariously accurate. I've packed way too many toasties as if I'm never gonna [come] back."
Even CP Malaysia, the convenience food manufacturer, joined in on the fun, noting that many convenience stores in the country sell the same products.
