A Malaysian family living in Paris, France, accidentally caused a commotion in their apartment building after enjoying some fresh durian

In a TikTok video by user @faroy, the family shared how a team of firefighters suddenly arrived at their building after neighbours reported a suspicious gas smell.

"Caused chaos to a whole building… just because we Malaysians ate some durian at home. A team of firefighters came to find the source of the gas smell," read the video's caption.

Excited to have found the fruit in the city's Chinatown, the clip shows the family happily tucking into their durian — complete with pulut (sticky rice) — before firefighters were seen going door to door, asking residents, "Do you smell gas in your apartment?"

When curious netizens asked what happened next, the family revealed that firefighters inspected the entire building and found nothing unusual — the gas meters showed zero readings.
