A video skit featuring a US comedian and writer playfully "seeking asylum" in Malaysia is making its rounds on the Internet

In the under-2-minute-long video, Holly Hudson is seen pretending to plead with the Malaysian Embassy in the US to grant her political asylum.

"Embassy of Malaysia? Yes, I would like to relocate my body, soul and working Wi-Fi," she says in the video.

The Instagram video, posted on 29 October, has racked up over 250,000 views, 9,000 likes, and nearly 500 comments.

Hudson's video skit is part of a series of Instagram videos in which she 'contacts' various embassies, 'pleading' for political asylum

In the video, she humorously describes her country, the US, as politically backwards.

To date, she has uploaded videos portraying herself seeking asylum in Kenya, Morocco, and Colombia.

According to her website, Holly is a "comedian, writer, actor and producer living between London, the US, and other yet unexplored pockets of the world."

Hudson's video comes in the wake of the 47th ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur, where Malaysia hosted world leaders, including US President Donald Trump

"If a durian shows up, I will not make a face. My country elected worse-smelling things," she adds in the video, much to the amusement of many.

Many Malaysians chimed in, inviting Hudson to come and experience the country for herself.

"As usual, no matter what, Malaysians always welcome [you and] everyone with open arms," one wrote.

"Malaysian here: I approve!!" another exclaimed.

Meanwhile, one user cheekily gave Hudson a thumbs-up for her pronunciation of Genting.

"Approved. Your pronunciation of Genting is accurate; thank God you didn't say 'Jen-ting', or else we would have to refer your application down South. Iykyk."
