**…and you're tired of hearing this:**
*"Ganda mo sana girl, kaso ang dami mong pimples."*
Having acne is really tough and can make you feel terrible about yourself. Your face is the first thing people see, and you want people to notice you, not your blemishes. If you have acne, you'll understand these things.
1.
When they tell you're pogi or maganda, but you have lots of pimples :'(
2.
Every time you see a new treatment like lotions and creams you're like:
3. When they tell you that you don't look like yourself with makeup on
Finding a foundation that actually covers your spots is a must-have.
4. When people can't look you in the eye; they are too busy being amazed by my puss-filled beauties
Sorry for the descriptive wording above, but yes, it's true. Talking to a person face to face is almost as nerve-wracking as bungee jumping off a building with the same cord that's been used for 20 years.
5. You're scared if it would turn into real scars
And the reality of it is pretty shit. Which is yet another reason why it's annoying that many people see acne as a petty teenage complaint rather than an actual medical condition.
6. Trying to resist the urge to pick at your face is a constant battle
7. Having young children point to your acne-ridden face and ask you what those bumps are
8. When they ask you 'if you really know how to wash your face'
9. When your friends tell you to see their 'reliable' dermatologist
10. Never ending struggle of trying to decide whether or not to cover up your acne with make-up
11. When they see you during family reunion, and all your Titas are like "ano'ng nangyari sa mukha mo?"
12. When they tell you you're not drinking enough water that's why you're breaking out
13. When they ask you if you eat lots of chocolates and peanut butter
14. When they keep on telling you this: "[Insert treatment here] worked for my friend! You should try it!"
You should try not recommending things to me because you have no idea what you're talking about!
15. When they tell you: "Tanning really helped clear up my skin"
16. And it hurts when they tell you it's because of your make up
17. And when you have enough oil on your face to be able to fry an egg
18. And by that, you have always thought that you're 'RFFL': Red Faced For Life
Acne and a red face go together like fries and ketchup; evidently our little zit friends decided it wasn't enough just to stick themselves onto our cheeks and foreheads.
