For fans back home in Malaysia, that historic moment will be happening at 3.30am on 19 February.

Yeoh, who made history in 2023 as the first Asian actor to win the Academy Award for Best Actress for Everything Everywhere All at Once, will be honoured in the Motion Pictures category.

The ceremony will be hosted by filmmakers Jon M Chu (who directed her in Crazy Rich Asians and the Wicked franchise) and Ang Lee, the visionary behind Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

"The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is proud to welcome actress Michelle Yeoh to the Hollywood Walk of Fame," said producer Ana Martinez, according to CNA.

"Michelle's extraordinary talent, grace, and groundbreaking career have left an indelible mark on the entertainment industry. Her star honours a trailblazer whose work continues to inspire audiences worldwide.

From action-packed Hong Kong films in the 1990s to global blockbusters like Crazy Rich Asians and the recent Wicked: For Good, Yeoh has consistently proven her versatility on screen

She's also set to appear in James Cameron's Avatar 4 and 5, as well as the Prime Video series Blade Runner 2099.

On top of that, Yeoh is showing her experimental side in Sandiwara, a short film directed by Sean Baker, shot entirely on iPhones at a Malaysian night market.

She takes on five different roles in the film, which premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival on 13 February.

At the same event, Yeoh received the Honorary Golden Bear for Lifetime Achievement.

"I never imagined that a girl from Malaysia who loved discipline, dance, dreaming without limits, would travel so far through stories.

"My paths have crossed languages and cultures, continents and genres. Sometimes gracefully, sometimes a little painfully but always guided by curiousity, and deep faith in cinema," she said during her speech.
