But this isn't just another EDM night at a club. Heineken Refresh is trying to reimagine what a music event can look and feel like.
This year's edition is shaping up to be the biggest one yet.
Here's a look at the lineup:
- Zedd, the Grammy-winning producer behind Clarity, The Middle, and Stay, will bring his polished, stadium-ready set to a Malaysian crowd
- HYO of Girls' Generation returns with a twist, as she'll be accompanied by a live choir in a set that blends dance music with vocal-driven performance
- Homegrown names like Blink, Jovynn, and AnnJo add local firepower, while emerging duo Beautiful Mistakes round out the roster with late-night energy

So, what makes Heineken Refresh different?
Where typical music festivals build around headline acts and set times, Heineken has been focusing on how and where people experience music.
In a lead up to this year's main event, Heineken has been hosting unexpected "Refresh Sessions". These small pop-up DJ sets were set up in gyms, bookstores, and supermarkets across Malaysia. The idea was to meet people in their everyday spaces, not just on a weekend dancefloor.
It's a smart move, especially at a time when music discovery is algorithm-driven and many listeners don't step outside their curated Spotify bubbles. The sessions and upcoming Heineken Refresh 2025 tap into a desire for shared, in-person music experiences.

And why Zedd? While he's no stranger to headlining international festivals, Zedd hasn't played in Malaysia recently.
His clean, melodic production style has wide appeal across pop and electronic fans. Booking him signals that Heineken is aiming big, not just in terms of production, but in artiste calibre.
"Heineken Refresh is all about breaking boundaries — of sound, of spaces, and of social circles," said Shaun Lim, Marketing Manager – Premium, Heineken Malaysia Berhad.
"It's about bringing people together through unexpected music moments, turning strangers into new music buddies, and creating memories over a cool, refreshing Heineken.
"From surprise sets in everyday spaces to this spectacular highland finale, every Heineken Refresh moment is designed to ignite discovery — of new beats, fresh vibes, and meaningful connections. It's not just a music event, it's a celebration of what happens when great music, great company, and great beer come together," Lim explained.
If the past sessions and current ticket demand are anything to go by, this will definitely be one of the most interesting live music events in Malaysia this year.
