Calling all aspiring singers! This is your shot at becoming Malaysia's next music star.
XTRA's digital singing competition, XTRA XSTAR, is back for its second season, and promises to be even bigger than the first.
The talent search made waves last year when it crowned Zahra, a 19-year-old busker, as its very first champion. Fast forward to today, Zahra has gone from street performances to becoming a signed recording artiste with Alternate Records & Talents.
Her debut single, Janjiku Padamu, composed by Amsyar Sabri and Emeer Bakri, dropped on streaming platforms just weeks ago, showcasing the same soulful vocals that first won her the title.
Zahra's journey proves that sometimes, all it takes is one TikTok video to turn raw talent into a professional music career.
This season, XTRA is once again opening the stage to all Malaysians, regardless of age or background
Here's how to join XTRA XSTAR 2025:
STEP 1: Upload your singing video on TikTok
STEP 2: Make sure your account is set to public
STEP 3: Use the hashtag #XTRAXSTAR2025 and tag @xtra_my
STEP 4: You must not be under any recording or management contract
From there, 20 contestants will be shortlisted by professional judges. Fans will then vote online to decide the top five finalists, who'll battle it out live at Studio Balai Berita Bangsar, Media Prima Berhad.
The grand finale will also be streamed live on XTRA's official TikTok, so anyone can tune in!
Wondering what's at stake for the contestants of XTRA XSTAR 2025?
The winner of this year's talent search will walk away with a recording and exclusive management contract with Alternate Records & Talents.
Besides that, they'll gain wide media coverage across Media Prima platforms, as well as appearances on popular entertainment shows and exclusive interviews.
Throughout the talent search, contestants will be judged based on creativity, vocal strength, and performance uniqueness by none other than Marsha Milan, Puteri Khareeza, and Bob Yusof.
