Australian YouTuber Garbage Time, known for his wild and extreme car experiments, recently turned his attention to Malaysia's national car, the Proton Saga

After his primary race car, a Mitsubishi Evo, suffered a mechanical failure, he decided to drive his notoriously abused Proton Saga on a professional racetrack.

Nicknamed 'Goober', this seemingly normal car was subjected to extreme experiments, including being filled with Pepsi for coolant and Nutella for engine oil. True to form, Garbage Time took the vehicle to the track, pushing it to its absolute limits.

Surprisingly, the car demonstrated excellent driving characteristics

Although it experienced some controllable understeer when cornering, it smoothly kept pace with a BMW ahead. He even managed to hit a top speed of around 156km/h, which is incredibly fast for a standard road car.

Ultimately, he praised the Saga for surviving such intense conditions and exceeding everyone's expectations

He jokingly remarked, "Proton, how did you do it, mate? People banging on about Toyotas, well, pick Proton instead. There's magic under there," he said while gesturing towards the engine.

Netizens in the comments section were thrilled to see the Proton Saga function so well despite the extreme testing, with many calling it the best advertisement for Proton they had ever seen and requesting that he build a dedicated track version to test its true potential.
