A Chinese tourist visiting Malaysia was moved by a simple yet heartwarming act of kindness after a local auntie stepped in to pay for her lunch when she didn't have any cash on hand
Sharing her experience on Xiaohongshu, the tourist posted a photo of the meal and expressed gratitude to the Malaysian woman who came to her aid.
"I'm really touched," she wrote. "I arrived in Malaysia today for a trip. It was a bit rushed, and I didn't bring any cash with me. I thought WeChat, Alipay, and Visa would be enough."
The tourist said she was so moved that she was willing to repay the auntie's kindness ten times over.

Unfortunately, the first restaurant she stopped at in Johor accepted only cash
"I searched through all my bags but couldn't find a single ringgit," she explained. "That's when a Chinese Malaysian auntie nearby noticed I was in a tough spot — and without hesitation, she paid for my meal."
Despite the tourist's attempts to stop her, the auntie had already handed the money to the shop owner.
When the tourist tried to get her contact details to return the money and thank her properly, the auntie politely declined and walked away.
"Before leaving, she told me she had visited Beijing, Shanghai, and Xi'an, and had a very good impression of China," the tourist proudly added.
The meal — a comforting bowl of pork noodle soup and a coconut milk drink — cost RM26.30
Wanting to pay the kindness forward, the tourist offered to treat nearby Malaysian friends to a meal or transfer them the same amount, extending the offer to as many as 10 people.
"May China and Malaysia remain friendly for generations to come," she wished.
