Thai Police On The Hunt For Malaysian Who Robbed Hat Yai Gold Shop Alone & Unmasked
The police have identified the suspect as 61-year-old Yee Boon Long.

According to The Bangkok Post, the robbery took place at the Thai Udom 2 gold shop on Montri Road in the city around 11.55am yesterday, 8 April.
The lone man, who was armed and unmasked, entered the store and scared away the staff before making off with 138 baht-weight of gold jewellery from the display cabinets.
He walked out of the shop carrying the stolen gold in a shopping bag and fled on a motorcycle, which was later found abandoned about 300m away.

Provincial Police Region 9 investigators have identified the suspect as a Malaysian national named Yee Boon Long, 61
Yee is wanted for robbery and the illegal possession of a weapon in public.
Commissioner Pol Lt Gen Piyawat Chalermsri said the suspect also goes by other names, including the Thai alias Anucha Sae Yor.
Police revealed that Yee had previously robbed another gold shop in Hat Yai on 6 January 2017. He was imprisoned before being released and deported back to Malaysia on 22 September 2023.
Yee is also believed to be behind a gold heist in Malaysia two decades ago, during which he escaped to Thailand with gold valued at around 50 million baht (about RM6.4 million today).

Thai police are offering a reward of up to 100,000 baht (RM12,980) for information leading to the suspect's arrest
Police believe the fugitive is still within the southern Thai province.
