According to authorities, they faced four specific charges: driving in a way that obstructs traffic flow, driving recklessly, making unauthorised modifications to their vehicles with non-compliant parts, and having incomplete required vehicle equipment.

Showing remorse, the Malaysians performed the traditional Thai "wai" gesture to apologise for their behavior and the inconvenience they caused. They also promised that such incidents would not happen again.

Following legal proceedings, the group received an order to return to Malaysia immediately

"The six men and four women were fined 5,000 baht each (RM640) under Thai traffic laws," said district police chief Apichat Wannako.

The authorities also issued a reminder to all foreign drivers, including Malaysians, to respect and adhere to Thai traffic laws while in the country.

Additionally, Thai tour operators were urged to provide thorough briefings on local traffic regulations to visitors before they enter Thailand.
