As far as we can tell, the so-called "Cockroach Challenge" may have originated from Burmese teen Alex Yung. His Facebook post, showing a cockroach resting on his cheek, has been shared over 18,000 times at the time of writing.
For some reason, young people from Myanmar as well as the Philippines and Indonesia decided to take on the challenge, and… ugh
