Students With Special Needs To Receive RM150 Monthly Allowance

Two new special education secondary schools will be built in Selangor and Kelantan.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has proposed a monthly allowance of RM150 for students with special needs

Anwar, who is also the Finance Minister, announced this during the tabling of the Belanjawan 2026 today, 10 October.

"150,000 students with disabilities (OKU) will receive a monthly allowance of RM150," he said.

A total of RM270 million will be allocated for this initiative, providing direct financial support to the students.

Additionally, two new special education secondary schools will be built in Kota Damansara, Selangor and in Pasir Mas, Kelantan, respectively

The government will also allocate RM700 million to construct 35 additional special education blocks at existing schools.

Meanwhile, RM30 million will be set aside to upgrade school facilities and equipment to make them more accessible and disability-friendly.
