A routine trip home from Thailand turned unexpected for a Kedah woman after she discovered that her friend's husband, stranded in flood-hit Hat Yai, was with another woman he had introduced as his "wife"
The woman, who goes by Mommy Hannah on Threads, had travelled from Bangkok to Hat Yai by train on Saturday, 22 November.
Her younger brother picked her up, and they returned to Kedah via the Durian Burung border after receiving early warnings about worsening floods in southern Thailand.
"After I reached home, a friend contacted me. We were former classmates at Universiti Malaysia Perlis.
"The friend asked if I could check on her husband, who was stranded in a Hat Yai hotel with three colleagues. They are bankers from Penang," she said.
Because the floodwaters were still passable to four-wheel-drive vehicles, Hannah asked her Thai cousin to check on the hotel. The plan was for her brother to pick the men up later at a safer location.
When her cousin arrived, the hotel staff confirmed that four Malaysian men were still there because their vehicle had been trapped in the floods.
But the receptionist also revealed that one of the men, the friend's husband, was staying with a woman he had introduced as his "wife".
"That was how we found out he was actually with someone else," Hannah wrote.
"When my cousin checked, it turned out that the colleague my friend was worried about was actually a woman staying as a 'roommate' for four days," she explained.
The 35-year-old mother of two, who works as a personal shopper, said she has not told her friend about the discovery yet
Her friend is currently in her confinement period after giving birth to her fourth child.
"I have still not decided whether to tell her directly, but I plan to inform her sister first," she said.

"Men, have mercy on your children and wives at home.
"If you are not ashamed of people, be ashamed of Allah," she wrote, stressing that her post was not meant for attention but as a reminder for wives not to place full trust in their partners.
