Ryan Chen, the Chinese social media personality famously dubbed the "Chinese Trump," was spotted immersing himself in the local culture alongside his parents
The influencer, who rose to prominence in 2024 for his uncanny impersonations of United States President Donald Trump, documented his Malaysian excursion through a series of videos that have since captured the attention of local netizens.

Choosing Malaysia as the destination for his father's first overseas trip, Chen noted that the visit was timed to coincide with the Chinese New Year celebrations
The family's itinerary focused heavily on KL's renowned culinary scene, specifically targeting the bustling atmosphere of a local night market.
Chen switched between Mandarin and English as he navigated the crowded stalls, ensuring his parents experienced the full breadth of Malaysian hospitality.

The highlight of their gastronomic tour was undoubtedly the king of fruits
Seeking a specific flavour profile, Chen was seen requesting Musang King durian with distinct bitter notes — a preference often shared by seasoned enthusiasts.
His parents were encouraged to sample a wide array of street food staples, including crispy apam balik, savoury oyster omelettes, and refreshing soya bean milk. These interactions, captured in a candid and appreciative tone, showcased a more personal side to the performer usually known for his satirical political impressions.
Beyond the food stalls, the family also visited the city's most iconic architectural landmarks
Chen's latest content features the PETRONAS Twin Towers and the towering Merdeka 118, where he shared his thoughts on the city's rapidly evolving skyline.
The influencer also visited a local fabric store and asked for culturally significant attire, in which he was offered a set of baju melayu and sampin. Chen was highly respectful with the shopkeeper, avoiding shaking hands with the female shopkeeper as it is a cultural faux pas in Muslim countries such as Malaysia.
Chen's journey concluded on a high note, with the influencer describing the trip as a unique and successful introduction to international travel for his family.
