Police On The Hunt For Dangerous Drivers At Genting Highlands

The authorities have opened an investigation into a group of sports car drivers caught recklessly speeding on the winding roads to Genting Highlands

The investigation was launched after an eight-minute video went viral, showing sports cars speeding past the roundabout on the way to Genting Highlands.

According to the New Straits Times, Bentong district police chief Supt Zaiham Mohd Kahar said the case is being investigated under Section 42 of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless and dangerous driving.

Zaiham said he was alerted to the dangerous driving footage through private messages from the public on the Bentong Police Facebook page

He urged anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant information to come forward and assist with the police investigation.

He also stressed that the police will take decisive action and conduct regular joint operations in the area, particularly on weekends and public holidays when such reckless driving is most common.

The virtual road closely mirrors the real road, featuring two lanes separated by barriers, and even includes sections where you can switch lanes or take alternative routes. You can experience the full 12.6km climb, which includes a dramatic 1,000m elevation gain.
