Police are looking for a married couple who fled the scene after their vehicle plunged into a river in Hulu Langat
Kajang district police chief ACP Naazron Abdul Yusof said they were alerted to the incident near Jalan Kuari, Sungai Long, around 9.30am yesterday, 8 July, after receiving information from the public.
"According to a witness who lives near the scene, loud noises were heard from the river area about 30 minutes earlier. The witness then saw a man and a woman exiting the car before fleeing in an unknown direction," the New Straits Times quoted him as saying.
A team from the police and the fire and rescue department later arrived at the scene and confirmed that no one was inside the vehicle. The car, a Perodua Alza, was later pulled out of the river, which was about 1.5m deep.

The vehicle was registered to a local man, who had rented it out to another Malaysian
Naazron said checks revealed that the couple had later borrowed the car.
"No fatalities were reported in this incident. However, we are actively tracking down the couple to determine the cause of the incident," he added.
