Another RM15 million has also been earmarked to strengthen the Second Chance Programme

The programme is expected to benefit up to 1,700 individuals, including former addicts at the Narcotics Addiction Rehabilitation Centre.

Some 3,000 female former prisoners who do not receive family support are also expected to benefit under the Second Chance Programme. They will receive incentives to start a business and generate income to help restart their lives.

Anwar called on more private companies to come forward to help make the Second Chance programme a success.
