A 51-year-old man was burned to death at his home in Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan yesterday, 12 October

According to China Press, the blaze broke out around 8.30am, drawing the attention of neighbours at Kampung Baru Sri Parit.

Several neighbours rushed into the house to extinguish the fire and found the man collapsed in the kitchen, with severe burns across his body.

The deceased was identified as Chen (transliteration), a 51-year-old unemployed man who was alone at home at the time of the incident

Preliminary investigations indicate that the fire originated from cooking equipment in the kitchen, where a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder was found.

Only about 5% of the house was damaged, preventing the flames from spreading to three wooden terrace houses in the area.

Medical personnel confirmed the victim's death at the scene, and the body was handed to the police for further action.
