Malaysians Vent Frustration Over 8-Hour Traffic Jam From JB To KL After Christmas Holidays

Malaysians have taken to social media to share their frustration after being stuck in traffic for up to eight hours while travelling from Johor Bahru to Kuala Lumpur following the Christmas holidays
In a TikTok video, Ridzham Yahya said he left Johor Bahru at 2pm on Saturday, 28 December, only to arrive in Shah Alam at 10.50pm.
The 341km journey, which normally takes about four hours, took Ridzham and his family eight hours and 50 minutes to complete.

His video struck a chord with many Malaysians, garnering over 200,000 views and 370 comments, with many netizens sharing similar experiences
"Left Desaru, Johor at 1pm and arrived in Melaka at 8pm today (28 December)," one TikTok user wrote, while another added, "I just came back from Melaka. It took me six hours to travel from Johor Bahru to Melaka."
Meanwhile, a netizen shared that he spent 11 hours on the road.
"Ugh. [I took] 11 hours to travel from Senai, Johor to Rawang, Selangor. When I got out of the car, I felt so drained that I could barely stand," said the netizen.
On Xiaohongshu, @je55lyn_lee also shared that her journey from Johor Bahru to Kuala Lumpur took seven hours, while another user reported that her trip from Kluang, Johor to Kuala Lumpur had already exceeded six hours, and she had yet to reach her destination.
