Popular bakery chain Lavender has issued an official statement to clear up confusion about the halal status of their products following discussions on social media

In their clarification, Lavender confirmed that while they are not halal-certified, they do use ingredients from halal-certified suppliers

This includes commonly used items like butter, oil, cheese, and sausages.

The bakery also addressed concerns about alcohol in their items

They assured customers that none of their bakery products contain alcohol, adding that they follow a strict "No Pork, No Lard, No Alcohol" policy across all their offerings.

Lavender further highlighted that they are HACCP-certified, which means they meet high standards for food safety and hygiene.

In a separate statement to SAYS, Lavender added:

"We understand that dietary preferences and restrictions are important to many of our customers… It is our priority to use premium quality ingredients that are also halal certified and to adopt good manufacturing practices."

They also acknowledged public suggestions to apply for halal certification through JAKIM, and said they're open to considering it to improve their service and build customer trust

The statement ended with a thank you to customers for their continued support and understanding.
