Building a dream physique usually takes grit, sweat, and countless hours at the gym. But for one Chinese influencer, all it took was a syringe and a massive bank account.

Andy Hao Tienan shocked the Internet after revealing he spent 4 million yuan (RM2.3 million) on acid injections to sculpt artificial eight-pack abs.

The Heilongjiang native, who focuses on beauty and fashion content, claimed the procedure made him the "first such case in China" to possess artificially induced stomach muscles.

Hao admitted that he turned to cosmetic enhancements simply because he could not achieve his ideal body through standard exercise

"I totally agree that muscles do not grow on cowards," he said, defending his decision against critics who called him lazy.

"But you have to understand, I have had so many injections. I am no coward anymore. Would you dare to do the same?"

While Hao is pleased with the results, pledging to livestream himself cracking walnuts on his stomach, medical professionals are less enthusiastic

Dr Li Jialun, a plastic surgeon with over 1.7 million followers, warned that injecting 40 doses of hyaluronic acid could lead to skin necrosis and blood vessel damage.

Dr Li also warned that natural muscles might atrophy due to the pressure from the fillers, leaving the influencer physically weaker in the long run.

Hao's social media profile claims that 20% of his body now contains hyaluronic acid, and he plans to inject a total of 10,000 doses eventually

The extravagant procedure sparked a heated debate on social media, with many questioning the logic behind the massive expense.
