Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has announced that RM210 million will be allocated to develop an Early Warning System (EWS) for natural disasters

Anwar, who is also finance minister, said this will strengthen Malaysia's disaster and crisis preparedness, thereby reducing risks to life and property.

Meanwhile, a RM20 million grant will be provided through GDRN (Disaster Response Network) to help victims of natural disasters.
