Earlier today, 27 April, a woman who identified herself as Jesslyn claimed that she was barred from entering the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) building because her dress was too short

According to a Facebook post from The Rakyat Post, Jesslyn was unable to renew her business license as she was turned away for breaking the dress code

As expected, the usual arguments ensued on social media. Many argued that there is nothing indecent about Jesslyn's dress and far from breaking the dress code:

However, some agree with DBKL, stressing that dress codes are not only enforced in Malaysian government buildings but all over the world

Looking at the bigger picture, some commenters pointed out that there should be clear guidelines on what constitutes as "short" and "menjolok mata" (indecent) to government officials to avoid this from happening again
