What's the big deal about smoothie bowls, you may ask? What happened to those smoothies in cups?
The difference between a smoothie bowl and an ordinary smoothie is that the consistency is much thicker, almost like ice cream which is too difficult to suck up a straw. Besides, you get to sprinkle all that goodness on top that gives it that extra crunch and texture that creates a beautiful harmony in your mouth.

This sundae-style treat gives you the impression that you're enjoying an indulgent treat, but is surprisingly healthy for your body
These natural, creamy goodness wont leave you ridden with guilt as you normally would after consuming an Oreo Mcflury with fries. Smoothie bowls and açaí bowls are so good for your body because it's basically a whole lot of fruit blitzed up, topped with seeds, more fruit and granola. It gives your body a whole load of vitamin, protein, healthy fat, and water that is the perfect kickstart to any day.

Be careful though, you may be introducing too much sugar into your diet
Using ingredients like flavoured yoghurt, dried fruit, and too much granola may just turn your smoothie bowl against you. Be careful that you're only putting fruits of the purest form into your smoothie bowl to avoid it from being loaded with too much sugar.
Here's what you can do if you want to make it yourself; portion your ingredients. Moderation is key.
