Back Alley Pasta, the intimate speakeasy-style restaurant known for its fresh handmade pasta and hidden lorong location in Ampang, has announced that 30 November will be its final day of service
On their Instagram, the team wrote: "After so many wonderful meals, laughter, and memories shared, we'll be closing our doors on 30/11/2025. Thank you to everyone who's dined with us, supported us, and been part of our journey. This isn't goodbye — just a see you soon. We can't wait to welcome you back again someday. "
If you've ever scrolled through KL food TikTok or heard enthusiastic whispers from foodie friends, chances are Back Alley Pasta has come up at least once

The restaurant made waves for several reasons, and none of them involved flashy signboards or Insta-worthy neon lights.
True to its name, it is literally tucked in a back alley, sandwiched between buildings in an unassuming lorong in Ampang.
Inside, you were greeted by an intimate space with bar seating facing the open kitchen. Diners often described it as having "speakeasy pasta bar vibes", where watching the chefs prepare your dish right in front of you was part of the charm.
Seating was extremely limited, with roughly 20 seats, which only added to the hype. When it first opened, reservations often booked out weeks in advance, and dedicated fans sometimes waited up to a month to secure a spot.
Since then, the restaurant has expanded its space to add more tables and accommodate more customers.

Everything was made fresh in-house, resulting in dishes with rich textures and flavours you can't get from store-bought pasta
Their menu rotated occasionally, but crowd favourites included squid-ink tagliolini carbonara with smoked bacon, peppercorn pappardelle with slow-braised wagyu cheek, gnocchi in miso béchamel topped with yuzu brisket, and quinoa arancini with spinach and truffle.
Their creations leaned Italian at heart but weren't afraid to play with Asian flavours like miso, yuzu, and nori butter, giving each dish a uniquely "KL fusion" identity.

With its final day fast approaching, those who want to dine there one last time should try to visit as soon as possible before the restaurant officially closes at the end of the month
"As a token of appreciation, everyone will get 10% off their bill from November," the restaurant added.
