Two K-Dramas Release Statements Following The Passing Of Actor Song Young-kyu

The South Korean entertainment scene is mourning the sudden loss of veteran actor Song Young-kyu, who died on 4 August
The currently airing dramas The Winning Try and The Defects have released official statements following the death of the actor.
According to Soompi, The Winning Try's production team released a statement on 4 August.
"We express our deepest condolences over the heartbreaking news and sincerely wish the deceased peace. We also extend our heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family," they said.
They also clarified that the drama is pre-produced, and most episodes have already been delivered to OTT platforms worldwide
Only minimal editing is being done in the later episodes to avoid disrupting the flow of the story.
The Defects team also shared a statement: "We express our condolences on the tragic news of the late Song Young-kyu and pray for his peaceful rest. The Defects has already been fully edited and will air without additional modifications."
In Malaysia, The Defects is currently airing on Tonton.
Throughout his career, Song Young-kyu was known for his versatility and strong screen presence
Over the years, he starred in a wide range of dramas, from intense crime thrillers like Voice to family dramas such as My Golden Life. His ability to transform into any character made him a familiar and respected face on screen.
