If your drawer of "I'll fix this later" items is starting to look like a small graveyard of broken earphones, torn tote bags, and that one hoodie you refuse to let go of… this weekend might be your sign
Two community-driven repair pop-ups are happening in PJ and KL this weekend, and they're all about one thing: repair over replace.
Repair Cafe KL is hosting its first event on 18 April (Saturday), 11am to 4pm, at Lolla Paluza Café.
They'll be fixing things like:
- Phones, tablets, laptops, e-readers
- Small USB-powered devices (speakers, microphones, mouse, etc)
- Earbuds, earphones, AirTags and other accessories
- Clothes, bags, soft toys, plushies
- Home textiles like pillowcases and linens
There's a minimum spend of RM20, but it's fully redeemable as F&B credit, so you can fix your stuff and still enjoy a coffee or snack while you're there.
On Sunday, 19 April, 11am to 4pm, the repair crew heads to KL for a collab pop-up at Kalpa Yard
The session is a first-time collaboration with FashRev Malaysia.
Same idea, different setting: bring your broken items and get them repaired on-site by people who actually know what they're doing.
This one runs on a pay-by-donation basis, so you decide how much you'd like to contribute.
Instead of tossing out a pair of earphones because one side stopped working, or ignoring that ripped tote bag in your wardrobe, these pop-ups will give your items a second chance
It's all about slowing down a little, learning how things work, and realising not everything needs to be thrown away the moment it breaks.
