New York's iconic steakhouse, Smith & Wollensky, has officially landed in Malaysia, opening an outlet at Suria KLCC
Renowned worldwide for its prime steaks, old-school charm, and world-class hospitality, the restaurant brings a slice of New York to the heart of KL.
At the grand opening on 18 January, guests were entertained by a traditional lion dance, as well as a live performance by jazz singer Dasha Logan.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was officiated by a distinguished lineup of VIPs, namely:

Spanning multiple dining areas with over 300 seats, Smith & Wollensky Kuala Lumpur is designed to cater to everything from "treat yourself" meals and business dinners to celebrations and private gatherings
Guests can choose from all-day dining, bar seating, and private dining rooms, all thoughtfully curated to deliver the signature Smith & Wollensky experience.
The interiors marry classic New York steakhouse elegance with subtle nods to Malaysian culture, including batik-inspired motifs, pewter accents, and designs referencing the national flower, bunga raya.
For steak lovers, the restaurant's crown jewel is the Swinging Tomahawk
The 28-day grain-fed, dry-aged beef cut is hand-seared and prepared tableside for that dramatic, Instagram-worthy moment. Great for sharing, it truly is a sight to behold.
The other steak options are standouts too, as the restaurant takes pride in its state-of-the-art dry-aging process, controlling temperature and humidity to ensure every cut delivers perfect tenderness, flavour, and juiciness.
Seafood fans aren't left out. The Signature Seafood Tower is a stunning bounty from the sea, stacked with Boston lobster, fresh oysters, scallops, flower crab, mussels, clams, and prawns.
As for dessert, the Gigantic Chocolate Cake — a ten-layer chocolate masterpiece filled with mousse and ganache — steals the show.
Smith & Wollensky Kuala Lumpur also boasts a wine cellar of nearly 2,000 labels from around the globe. Highlights include a broad selection of exclusive American wines, as well as offerings from France, Italy, Spain, Australia, Chile, and South Africa.

In line with its first CSR initiative in Malaysia, the steakhouse also introduced its Mental Health Awareness Commitment, in collaboration with Plus Vibes
Throughout 2026, Smith & Wollensky Kuala Lumpur will host talks, forums, and events focused on mindful eating and its impact on mental wellbeing, alongside charitable contributions to mental health-related NGOs.
The restaurant also has partnerships with Universal Music Malaysia and local universities such as Taylor's University, Sunway University, and the Food Institute of Malaysia, to nurture talent in hospitality, food, and service.
