Part aquarium, part conservation hub, the Singapore Oceanarium isn't just about pretty fish in tanks (although there are plenty of those).
The new space blends immersive storytelling, marine science, and cutting-edge tech into a journey across 22 themed zones, from prehistoric oceans to deep sea trenches, coral gardens, and even Singapore's own coastlines.
Want to experience sea jellies pulsing in rhythm to music? Or learn how a whale's skeleton becomes a city for deep-sea creatures? This place has it all.
To kick things off, the Singapore Oceanarium is launching a series of opening celebrations, packed with interactive showcases and creative workshops for all ages

One major highlight is the Research & Learning Week (25–27 July), featuring expert-led talks, hands-on science stations, and a Living Oceans Exhibition presented with the National University of Singapore and Sentosa Development Corporation.
Plus, don't miss Ties That Bind, a powerful photo series by acclaimed Singaporean photographers Toh Xing Jie and Michael Aw — an ode to marine biodiversity and our interconnectedness with the sea.
Beyond the pretty visuals, the Oceanarium also has some cool public programmes lined up. Here's what you can expect:
- Singapore Oceanarium Insider Experience: A deep-dive VIP tour with exclusive access and behind-the-scenes peeks (yes, even on top of the Open Ocean tank!)
- Fossilist Workshop: Unearth and take home real fossils at this science-meets-dig activity
- Animal Spotlights: Learn about coral propagation or feed sea jellies in guided mini-tours
- Ocean in Focus: Into the Abyss: Explore how deep-sea creatures survive in total darkness
All these experiences aim to spark a love for marine life, and you might just leave feeling like a budding marine scientist.
The Singapore Oceanarium also comes with its own app, launching on 23 July

Expect augmented reality features, ticketing access, and a priority lane just for app users.
You'll also unlock free entry to Pier Adventure, a suspended web walkway with a killer view of the Jewel of Muscat, a replica of a ninth-century Arabian dhow from the former Maritime Experiential Museum & Aquarium.
And in true ocean-saving spirit, you can even make digital pledges for marine conservation — shown in real-time on a dynamic wave-like screen, and emailed to you as a keepsake.
