TOKOSUE's founder, Sue Emoqwin, announced this heartfelt appeal on Facebook today, 25 March.
"Like all small businesses that operate independently, we've faced many ups and downs, experimenting with different strategies to stay afloat. However, in recent months, we've encountered significant financial challenges," she said.
The bookstore, which has championed small publishers, zines, and community activities since 2022, has decided to launch a three-month campaign to raise funds to help settle outstanding payments and improve their cash flow.
"As TOKOSUE is entirely independent, with no external funding, we deeply appreciate any support from fellow book lovers and those who believe in what we do," said Sue.

Those who wish to support the cause can purchase books from TOKOSUE's own publishing imprint, Rocky Press
Books are priced between RM28 and RM35 each, with a three-book bundle available for RM80. Titles include Komedi Orang Minyak, Situasi Situasi, and more.
For those who love surprises, you can opt for their RM100 'Blind Date Book Package' in Malay or English. This package contains three books, including a mystery book, which features titles from other publishers.
