Forget everything you thought you knew about doing laundry
That dreaded chore of sorting, washing, and folding? Randy's Laundromat in Ara Damansara is here to change that, and might even make you look forward to it.
High school buddies Khai Song and Nicholas are the brains behind Randy's. Nicholas, an interior designer, conceived the concept and handles the creative direction, while Khai Song brings in operational chops from the automotive world, keeping the day-to-day running smoothly.
Together, they wanted to turn laundry from a rushed chore into a mini ritual because as they put it, "a life well kept is a life well lived".
"We noticed that laundry is something everyone has to do, but it's usually treated as a chore you rush through.
"The idea behind Randy's was to turn that process into something aspirational — a place where people could slow down, have a good cup of coffee, and actually enjoy. By combining a laundromat with a café, we wanted to make everyday upkeep feel less routine and more like a ritual. In a nutshell, the concept was conceived on the belief that a life well kept is a life well lived," they shared with SAYS.

"Randy is the embodiment of the idea of simple pleasures in life and that chores does not have to be as is," they explained.
For the café area, Randy's has a simple yet thoughtful menu
They serve coffees, and a handful of curated drinks like their Mint To Be (yuzu, peppermint and tonic), plus paninis like the signature Randy's BLT (smoked beef, lettuce, tomato and wasabi aioli).
They also provide board games, as customers often use the space to work or catch up with friends while getting their laundry done.
And when it comes to finishing your laundry, they noticed most places do not provide a well-equipped folding or ironing station
"People tend to just bag their dried laundry and continue the process at home. Randy's is that friend who would provide you an ironing board and a press cloth if you were to do laundry at his home," they added.
Starting 9 February, Randy's is kicking off a month-long Social Laundry promotion: "Customers who visit with a friend and complete two full wash-and-dry loads in a single visit will receive 50% off all F&B purchases".
