After teasing us with an exclusive release in Sabah and Sarawak, Nestlé Malaysia has finally brought the KitKat Dark Ice Cream to Peninsular Malaysia.

So now, the rest of us can get our hands on it without plotting a foodie trip to East Malaysia.

The outer shell of the ice cream is coated in decadent dark chocolate made from real Bornean cocoa

Crunchy KitKat wafer bits are woven into the chocolatey shell, giving it that satisfying crack with every bite.

Inside, you'll find a velvety vanilla centre that's creamy, rich, and somehow not overwhelmingly sweet.

It's the first of its kind for KitKat in Malaysia

Last year, KitKat introduced the Dark Borneo variant of their chocolate wafer snack, which marked the brand's first product made using cocoa sourced from Sabah and Sarawak.

The ice cream version builds on that release, offering a chilled, indulgent take using the same premium Bornean cocoa.

This is all part of Nestlé Malaysia's ongoing farming initiative to support more sustainable, locally driven agriculture. Through the Farmer Connect programme, the company helps boost food security and improve the livelihoods of Malaysian farmers.

The launch of Nestlé's Borneo Cocoa Initiative (NBCI) aims to develop a local cocoa supply chain in East Malaysia, taking advantage of Sabah and Sarawak's fertile soil and rainforest climate.

Using Trinitario cocoa beans grown in Borneo's volcanic soil and tropical conditions, the chocolate goes through a careful fermentation and sun-drying process.

The result is a 52% cocoa dark chocolate with a bold but creamy taste, accented by fruity notes that give it a distinct and sophisticated profile.

Just a few months ago, the company rolled out the ice cream version of KitKat Dark Borneo, first launching it exclusively in East Malaysia.
