As part of its ongoing mission to support healthier living, Nestlé Malaysia recently held its inaugural Home of Good Nutrition Day for media professionals from Media Prima
Held on 30 July, the event aimed to spotlight the critical role of nutrition education and provide hands-on tools for Malaysians to live healthier, more balanced lives.
"Good nutrition should be part of everyday life — not just something we talk about, but something we live by," said Nestlé Malaysia CEO Juan Aranols.
"This event is our way of bringing that philosophy to life in a personal and meaningful way, especially for our media friends who play a key role in shaping public discourse on health and wellbeing," he added during a media engagement session.

The day's programme featured a series of engaging stations, including product samplings of innovations like the MAGGI Air Fryer Marinade series, and interactive booths from the Nestlé Home of Good platform
Attendees also received practical tips on balanced eating and wellness strategies for daily life.
"This reflects our 'Good For You' strategy — our global commitment to offering both nutritious products and the knowledge people need to make better choices.
"We see our role not just as a food company, but as a partner in promoting public health," Aranols added.
Nestlé's Good For You strategy spans multiple touchpoints, from long-standing initiatives like MILO Malaysia Breakfast Day and Nestlé Omega Walk A Million Miles, to school-based education through the Nestlé for Healthier Kids (N4HK) programme. Since its launch, N4HK has reached over 180,000 students across Malaysia, with a target to reach half a million by 2030.
Speaking on the importance of such initiatives, Nestlé Malaysia's Group Corporate Nutrition Manager, Wong Mei Ching, highlighted the urgent need for action, citing Malaysia's rising obesity and non-communicable disease rates, as revealed in the 2023 National Health and Morbidity Survey (NHMS).
"We're seeing both over-nutrition — too much sugar and sodium — and under-nutrition, where people are lacking essential vitamins and minerals. It's a double burden.
"That's why our approach isn't just about making nutritious products accessible, but also about empowering people with practical knowledge and easy-to-use tools," Wong said.
According to Nestlé Malaysia, the company has been steadily improving the nutritional profile of its products
To date, 49 products — comprising 25% of its portfolio — are Healthier Choice Logo (HCL)-certified, including 100% of its MILO line and 80% of its dairy and cereal-based products. Many items, such as NESTUM and Nestlé Everyday, are fortified with key micronutrients like calcium and iron.
The company has also reformulated existing favourites to strike a balance between taste and nutrition. New offerings such as MILO Intense Dark Chocolate, with less sugar, and MAGGI Syiok Aglio Olio showcase how healthy eating doesn't have to mean sacrificing flavour.
"Malaysians love their food, and we completely respect that.
"That's why we focus on innovation that enhances both nutrition and taste — so consumers never feel like they have to compromise," said Aranols.

When asked what advice she would give Malaysians navigating today's crowded food landscape, Wong stressed simplicity and consistency
"Start with the basics. Check the nutrition label, and be mindful of portion sizes
"Nutrition is a lifelong journey. What matters is making informed choices, one day at a time," she said.
