[PHOTOS] Asia’s First Animation Theme Park Is Now Open In Ipoh And It Looks Pretty Epic

Movie Animation Park Studios (MAPS), touted as Asia's first animation theme park, has finally opened its door to visitors on Monday, 26 June.

Situated in Bandar Meru Raya, MAPS opened its doors to eager visitors who were seen lining up at ticket counters as early as 8am.
More than 7,000 visitors showed up at the RM520 million (US$121 million) theme park's soft launch, according to [The Star](http://www.thestar.com.my/news/nation/2017/06/27/animation-park-draws-the-crowd-awestruck-visitors-find-new-attraction-in-ipoh-a-delightful-experienc/).

The theme park features over 40 attractions across six thematic zones for visitors of all age groups
These zones are Animation Square, Dream, Blast Off, Live Action, Lakeside, and Fantasy Forest Zones.
The park, which boasts the tagline "Live Your Dreams!", houses attractions based on popular cartoon themes like The Smurfs and Casper the Friendly Ghost as well as homegrown characters like BoBoiBoy.

For those in need of an adrenaline rush, catch adrenaline-pumping car and motorbike stunt performances at the park's Stunt Legends Arena

There are three live shows happening daily in the 2,000-seat complex.
For thrill-seekers, the park houses Megamind Megadrop – Malaysia's tallest drop tower – that descends 52 metres within three seconds! Not for the faint-hearted for sure.

For kids and those who are young at heart, the Fantasy Forest Zone gives them an opportunity to explore the Cave of Wonders or cool down under the watchful eyes of ancient Roman statues at the Coliseum Water Garden

The theme park has also placed photographers at all zones for your photo-op needs. Printed copies can be purchased at selected photo kiosks.
Looks like MAPS has something for everyone in the family! In conjunction with the Raya holidays, discounted tickets priced at RM131 for adults and RM104 for children are currently available until 2 July.
