The MICHELIN Guide has unveiled its 2026 edition for Kuala Lumpur and Penang, celebrating Malaysia's dynamic culinary scene with 18 new entries: two new MICHELIN-Starred restaurants, eleven MICHELIN Selected venues, and five new Bib Gourmand picks

Announced on Tuesday, 11 November, the updated list now features a total of 151 recognised establishments — comprising nine MICHELIN-Starred, 84 MICHELIN Selected, and 58 Bib Gourmand eateries.

"From time-honoured street stalls to inventive fine-dining tables, this latest edition reflects a Malaysia in full creative bloom: a country where tradition and innovation continue to thrive side by side," the guide notes.

MICHELIN Stars represent the highest distinction for culinary excellence, with three stars being the pinnacle. MICHELIN Selected recognises restaurants for consistently high-quality cuisine. Meanwhile, Bib Gourmand is awarded to eateries that serve memorable meals at great value — often beloved neighbourhood or street food spots.
