Many historical changes happened this year

To jog your memory a little, we now have a new government, had a longer durian season, competed in the Winter Olympics for the first time, and so much more. It is expected that this year's Merdeka celebration will be a grand and memorable one.

To celebrate, FashionValet collaborated with rapper Joe Flizzow to create the '1957' collection

Joe Flizzow is known for expressing his love for his country, so it's not a surprise that he would make the perfect fit for a collaboration like this.

The collaboration was to commemorate his outright independence and beliefs as well as to encourage Malaysians to rise and stand up for a better Malaysia.

The collection has a mixture of street style and the elements of Malaysia, making it chic-patriotism

Incorporating a street style element in the shapes and materials used, paired with the colours of Malaysia makes for a bold yet wearable collection.

The pieces have the colours of the Jalur Gemilang on them as well as 1957 plastered across them.
