Meet The Malaysian Who Starts Every Morning Feeding Stray Dogs Before Work
A simple act of kindness turned into a decade-long routine, and more than 20 lives saved.

It started with one mama dog and her litter. Now, Kris somehow has 14 pets split between home and office, and a schedule that would make most of us hit snooze.

Ten years ago, Kris wasn't looking to be the local dog rescuer. But one morning, a female stray decided to give birth right in front of his workplace. Literally, on the road.
Instead of just watching, he scooped up mama and her pups, and that small act snowballed into something much bigger.

"From those beginnings, I just became aware of the number of strays roaming near my workplace and started feeding them," he told SAYS.

Every morning at 7.30am, Kris and his friend head to a street near his office, where the local doggos already know the drill
Most of them know him by name (or at least, by the sound of kibbles being scooped).
What used to be a pack of eight has dwindled over the years. Two were adopted after injuries (one even had hip surgery), some disappeared, and heartbreakingly, others were poisoned.
Now, there are just two regulars, he shared, though one just brought her own puppies into the gang.

"It's just a joy to feed and care for them," he said, like it's the easiest thing in the world.
And while most Malaysians might think of dog food as expensive, Kris keeps it practical.
He buys pellets from the SPCA, mixes them with leftovers, and mashes them into dog-sized meatballs.
When asked if the dogs know him and if he's named them, Kris simply said, "Yes and yes."
In fact, one kitten even wandered into his office one day. Without missing a beat, Kris tried to find it a home.
"Do you want a kitten? She's a cutie," he joked during our interview.
Over the years, Kris has rescued and found homes for more than 20 strays
Some were brought into his office for adoption; others were taken in directly by friends and families.
As for challenges? He doesn't dwell on them. If it rains, umbrella. If someone complains, he talks to them. If it's pricey? "Don't worry about it," he said.

To him, it's not some heroic crusade. It's just… the right thing to do.
And as long there's a hungry dog waiting on that street in the morning, Kris will keep showing up.
Kris' commitment aligns with Execute AWA — Malaysia's first national humanity mission for greater animal welfare — by the people of Malaysia, for the animals of Malaysia.
This positive and professional community movement champions unity and grassroots collaboration, demands strict enforcement of laws that uphold justice, and advocates for legal reforms to raise the standards of animal rights nationwide.
