What does prosperity during Chinese New Year mean to you?
For some, it means having wealth; for others, it means happiness.
Whatever prosperity means to you this year, there's no doubt that everyone will be fully immersed in CNY traditions and rituals, from wearing bright colours and cleaning the house, to cooking specific dishes. Time to usher in all that wealth, happiness, luck, and longevity, woohoo!

CNY is a significant time for families to get together — and to McDonald's, celebrating the festive occasion with loved ones is what prosperity truly means. As the saying goes, "A family in harmony will prosper in everything."
So, with CNY fast approaching, McDonald's has taken the opportunity to come up with a heartfelt video. It tells the story of a young girl named Jin Hua, who enjoys capturing precious moments of her family members, but is met with resistance from her mother, Ah Fen.

As Jin Hua loves capturing precious moments on her phone, she is always seen recording videos of Ah Gong trying out the latest social media trends. Wah, terer lah, Ah Gong!

Jin Hua: "Ha? Ah Gong only sang, 'Woaaahhh.' You should have started with, 'Huuuuuu,' first."
Ah Fen, however, thinks that Jin Hua is up to no good, and is always nags at her daughter for disturbing Ah Gong :((

Ah Fen: "Disturbing Ah Gong again?! And also, Zhao Jin Hua! Stop playing with your phone!"
When Ah Fen struggles to make the family pineapple tart recipe, Jin Hua shows Ah Fen a video clip of her late grandma revealing the missing ingredient. Awwww, you go, Jin Hua for capturing your precious family moments!
Narrator: "This is how it's supposed to be. When our family is harmonious, we prosper."

Thanks to Jin Hua, harmony is restored in her family, yay! And they gather for their CNY reunion dinner as one big, happy family. <3
