In 2012, Nadya Lee, a graphic designer by trade, founded her own brand of soaps, **The Saponifist**. Nadya said she spent nearly RM15,000 in 2 years to research and experiment before she started selling her soaps at bazaar and on her online store.

Michelle Ho started **The Kinder Soaps Company** in 2010 after 6 months of research and experimentation in soap-making. She first ventured into soap-making after she discovered that her newborn daughter was developing signs of eczema. Michelle tailors most of her products for people with sensitive skin, using only natural clays and botanical extracts for colourant, and essential oils for fragrance.

Based in Penang, **Global Organics Personal Care (GOPC)** was founded by Daniel Khoo and his partner Candy Chan in 2011. The duo then opened a retail outlet called **The Soap Cellar** in Penang two years later. Besides selling soaps through their retail and online store, they also supply soaps to hotels, boutique hotels, and small businesses.
