Since as early as 10am today, 4 April, an insanely long queue has been forming at BookXcess in KL East Mall, with eager book lovers lining up to get their hands on free books.
BookXcess recently announced a massive giveaway of 200,000 free books from 4 to 6 April, and the event kicked off today to an overwhelming response.
"There were three long lines stretching from one end of the building to the other," one visitor, who waited up to two hours, told SAYS
The queue was so long that one person likened it to a giant snake.
"It looks like a python coiling around. I arrived at 10am, and it was already this long. Thanks, but no thanks. There's no way I'm queuing just for 10 books," wrote another attendee on X.
Each visitor is allowed to take home 10 books for free, making this one of the biggest book distribution events in Malaysia
Still, many bookworms were thrilled by the opportunity. One lucky attendee shared, "Currently at KL East Mall for BookXcess's free books giveaway. Each person can take 10 books home for free. Look at the crowd! Who says Malaysians don't like to read?"
